![]() 5月27日 Galactica coming to HD-DVD The sleuths over at AVSForum.com have uncovered a page at Microsoft's Windows Media website offering a sneak peek into the future of HD-DVD. It reveals the first part of an alphabetical list of upcoming titles, amongst them the first confirmation of a television show and a couple cult classics. The List includes: 12 Monkeys, 2 Fast 2 Furious, American Pie, Animal House, Army of Darkness, Backdraft, Battlestar Galactica (2004) Season 1, Conan the Barbarian, Dante's Peak, Dazed and Confused, Dracula (1931), Dune Theatrical and End of Days. I'm personally going to be all over "Army of Darkness," "Conan the Barbarian" and "Battlestar Galactica: Season One." Now all we have to do is get ahold of F through Z! Source: Themanroom.com 4月27日 Battlestar Galactica spinoff "Caprica" announced - Yay!The Unofficial Battlestar Galactica Blog has posted on their website that the "Battlestar Galactica" series is getting a new spinoff series. The news has already been confirmed by the Sci-fi channel, who is paying for and will be broadcasting "Caprica".
"Caprica" will be set more than 50 years prior to the events of "Battlestar Galactica" and focus on the lives of two families -- the Adamas (ancestors of future Galactica commander William) and the Graystones. Humankind's Twelve Colonies are at peace and on the verge of a technological breakthrough: the first Cylon.
Wouldn't it be just a bit too early to start a spinoff series? Sure, BSG is great! What did I say? I meant friggin' GREAT!. But this after only 2 seasons? I don't know what to think of it... 3月8日 Battlestar Galactica Season 3 will be late! The SCI FI Channel's top-rated original series will break the mold and jump to a fall season premiere, the network announced today. The 20-episode third season of Battlestar Galactica will premiere in October 2006 on the cable network. The network did not give a reason for the later premiere date. As a cable channel SCI FI has traditionally counter-programmed to the big broadcast networks, airing new episodes of its original series when the networks are in reruns. I only got one thing to say to this: God nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo! Whyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy??!!!! BSG characters look back at the mini-seriesThe characters of the (re-imagined) Battlestar Galactica look back in this interview to their part in the mini-series. Looks like one big happy family to me...
GRACE PARK: I feel so shallow, everyone had these great stories, but I wanted the role of Starbuck because it was listed as a recurring role, and I wanted a steady paycheck. It was Katee, a Latino girl, and I in the final audition for Starbuck. I thought, they have no frackin’ idea who this character is. When I didn’t get Starbuck I was offered Sharon, but I didn’t want to play her, she just seemed like the nice girl on the show. Then when I re-read the script I got to the end and said ‘Woah! Sharon is a Cylon! I’ll never die! When did they change that?’ Which of course they hadn’t changed the script, but I had only read it looking for Starbuck’s part.

The session was to record music for the upcoming two-episode "season finale", which - according to McCreary - will leave fans yelling at their screens, due to the cliffhanger aspect.
There is just over 50-minutes of score over the two episodes (a 60-minute, and 90-minute finale), with only 16-minutes requiring strings. McCreary conducted the 21-piece string session, which included a cue that ran the entire act (approximately ten minutes). "I had 36-hours to write 55-minutes of music, for a 2.5-hour long monstrosity - and only five days to produce it all," explained McCreary. Score mixer and music co-producer Steve Kaplan made sure that the pre-records worked with the strings, and fans of the show are sure to be clamoring for some of these cues when La-La Land Records releases the soundtrack in June. ![]() Bear McCreary performs piano for the "Battlestar Galactica" season finale 2月16日
In true Galactica-style, the expanded season finale cliffhanger is sure to leave viewers wanting more. Up to this point, the last remnants of humanity have been on the run from the Cylons and searching for a mythical planet called Earth. They have been led by President Laura Roslin (Mary McDonnell), a woman whom many believe is the chosen prophet of human scripture, and Admiral William Adama (Edward James Olmos), a retired war hero forced back into service after the Cylons' near-genocide of the human race.
Source: http://comingsoon.net/news/tvnews.php?id=13207 1月15日 Why do they hate us so much?- I've asked you here to find out why the Cylons hate us so much. - It's what you said at the ceremony before the attack when Galactica was being decommissioned. You gave a speech that sounded like it wasn't the one you prepared. You said that humanity was a flawed creation. And that people still kill one another for petty jealousy and greed. You said that humanity never asked itself why it deserved to survive. Maybe you don't. 12月28日 BSG called "TV's Best of 2005" by Time-1- Battlestar Galactica (Sci Fi)
Most of you probably think this entry has got to be a joke. The rest of you have actually watched the show. Adapted from a cheesy '70s Star Wars clone of the same name, Galactica (returning in January) is a ripping sci-fi allegory of the war on terror, complete with religious fundamentalists (here, genocidal robots called Cylons), sleeper cells, civil-liberties crackdowns and even a prisoner-torture scandal. The basic-cable budget sometimes shows in the production, but the writing and performances are first-class, especially Edward James Olmos as the noble but authoritarian commander in charge of saving the last remnants of humanity. Laugh if you want, but this story of enemies within is dead serious, and seriously good. 11月24日 Deleted scenes for episodes 201-209Scifi.com has put up the deleted scenes for episodes 201 to 209. They're available on their website at http://scifi.com/battlestar/episodes/season02/201/ , /202/ , ect... Scroll down to watch them. 11月17日 Bear McCreary puts up some score samplesFor those of you who are some sort of score addicts (like I am), you'll really want to see (and listen) to this sample that was put up on Bear McCreary's website. If you turn the tv button, you'll find another clip, but it isn't that good.
The music you're hearing is taken from episode 2x10 called Pegasus, possibly the best BSG episode untill now (and also the last one before the mid-season break; with a *huge* cliffhanger) Man, i just can wait till the next episodes are aired.
Thanks to the gateworld forums for the link! 11月16日 Galactica gets a third season! SCI FI Channel announced that it has renewed its original series Battlestar Galactica for a third season. Production on the 20-episode order is slated to begin in Vancouver, Canada, in February 2006 for premiere later in the year, the network said. The entire ensemble cast returns for the new season, including Edward James Olmos, Mary McDonnell, Katee Sackhoff, Jamie Bamber, James Callis, Tricia Helfer and Grace Park. Also returning are executive producer and writer Ronald D. Moore and executive producer David Eick. Great news, if I may say so! 10月31日 Still no certainty for a 3rd season of BSGSCI FI is getting ready to pick up it's top-rated series Battlestar Galactica for a third season, TV Week is reporting. The cable network is expected to order another 20-episode season, to premiere next summer alongside SCI FI Friday companions Stargate SG-1 (Season Ten) and Stargate Atlantis (Season Three).
Though the shows ratings dipped slightly from the first season -- which ran from January to March of this year -- the numbers were still solid enough to keep Galactica in the network's top ratings spot. Along with the Stargates, Galactica also helped SCI FI hold on to the top cable spot for Friday night in key demographics. Source: Gateworld.net
